Default What sensor is it?

Hi

Just had to replace the front downpipe with cat on my 94 import wrx - there isnt a lambda o2 sensor but there is a sensor after the cat which is like a long thin probe - any idea what it is please as i need ot order a new one.

Cheers

Think you'll find it's called the 'Cat on Fire' sensor Honest !

It's a sensor the imports had to let you know when the catalyst was getting too hot.

I think if you do some reading you will find that it can be left disconnected' on your model year. You shouldnt get a CEL light either.

Wouldnt the sensor get a false reading thats its too cold? or is it only to detect a cat thats too hot?

Also, leaving it disconnected, you mean unplug it and block the hole with a bolt?

been reading a few 'cat on fire' posts and looks like its ok to block up, anyone by chance know the thread size of the hole? downpipes fitted to car and car at home and want to goto local bolt suppliers and get one.

The sickening thing is I had to pay an extra £73 for that hole as its a jap import and not a uk spec downpipe. Could have got a hole cheaper than that down City road in Bristol (bristolians amongst us will know what I mean)
