Default Mysterious Pipe on Classic??

Hi All, i have a mysterious pipe that has broken off my classic, its a small what seems to be air bleed pipe that connects to the intermediate intake box ( the box between the standard filter box and the plenum )

its about 6mmID 10mmOD, and runs to what seems to be a solenoid.

Ive been told it hasnt been connected in a long time from the previous owner so would be interested to know what it actually does?

Thanks
Rich

it is connected to the bottom of your 3 port solenoid. The solenoid puts some air back into the intake system.

just leave th epipe open to atmos and blank off the resonator. no need for it to be connected.

It's there to cause turbulence to the airflow, so that it makes the induction noise quieter.

A lot of people junk it and use a aftermarket res. delete pipe that's more direct (less restrictive).

That said, I'm sure I read on here that the OEM resonator is quite well 'tuned', as it happens.
