Turbo charts/comparisons?
Has anyone created a turbo comparison chart of some sort?
Something regarding what engine the turbo suits, what it can produce standard and supporting mods. best turbo for that price range etc.
I currently have a WRX since owned from new in 2001. (yeah i know a long time)
This year I will be going for a Hawkeye STi if possible, if not then WRX
depends on what is available at the time (got a very tight budget)
My question really is based on.
on a 2.5 engine (standard not forged)
Is it a good idea to have a bigger turbo, or is the current one ok to hit high 300s. with supporting mods.
If a bigger turbo is a good idea, there are a fair few to be seen
ie, the infamous MD321t which I heard can hit mid 400s around £1734
Litchfield's LM450-L60 (only one i know for 2.5) also can hit mid 400s at around £1920
SC's SC46 XTR Billet.(which is the one for 2.5?) can hit just over 400 at a good price of £1560
There is also turbos from JGM, and I can't find any info on any of them.
http://www.jollygreenmonster.com/store.html
I am guessing the numbers are BHP estimates, can't find what suits 2.5 engines etc.
What else have i missed?
Can a standard 2.5 deal with these turbos safely. or forged engine is highly recommended?

depends who you ask and what year car, hawkeye you dont wanna go to much over 350-400 before you start to risk it, they arn't truely forged, there neurotic pistons. Well nuerotech or summit or other like that, I forget the actual term lol
There have been failures before that power and some survive higher than that power, just pot luck.

If i wanted to be safe, will just forged pistons do?
Or do i need to go mental and go for gaskets, rods and cranks?
Because if so, why don't everyone get a 2.1 stroker kit... I'm yet to figure out what it is yet
