Not always

There are ways it can be done

But the safety of the car will still need to be checked by someone with the relivant equipment to check the fueling etc is safe.

Just turning it up and hoping its ok isnt the answer

i have a boost controller fitted to my 93 wrx and its set to just under 0.9bar.car runs decat system, panel filter and walbro and the afr's are good.i fitted mine as my z4 ecu should be running 0.9bar but never had more than 0.7bar. as far as i know the fuel cut is just under 1.1bar so when car on rollers next week will get it checked and see if ok to run a couple more psi and stay just under the fuel cut without it running lean.luckily the early classice seem to run quite rich as standard.i think the big problems come when you start getting rid of the fuel cut and going daft with the boost.

I am down in carrick my car is boosting to 1.1-1.2bar according to my boost gauge but should be boosting to nearly 1.4bar as standard so was thinking off turning it up abit although I have just seen that the Simon might be coming over in a couple of months might get him to look at it for me

try micheal white at OMA. I assume you have a WR1 bearing in mind your user name. have him check it over. i don't think 1.4 bar is standard on any factory subaru impreza. do not attempt to turn up the boost yourself. if it is boosting at 1.2 bar then it may already have been remapped in a previous life. if you need michael's number send me a PM.

Not sure what the standard boost is I have been told all different levels,I am going up to michaels hopefully on Friday to see him as I need a service and timing belt done so I will ask him to have a look at it for me,I could be just paranoid as I have been smoked lately by a seat Leon and a madza 6 so I was thinking is there something wrong with my car
Thanks steve
