hi people need some advise about a year ago my engine packed up on my95
wrx turbo so i had a new engine built with sti crank,rods,piston,type r heads
ect anyway i took the car to steve simpson to have it mapped however he only mapped it to 300bhp as he said when he held it at roughtly 5-6k he could hear a funny noise and his opinion it was a cracked piston.
anyway a year down the line and i dont drive the car easy the engine is still running spot on if i push the car really hard near red line then the engine light flashs which i belive is the knock sensor for the simtek but this only happens when i really push the car but did same on last engine.now if i had a crack piston would after a year of being driven hard would the piston of gave up if it was cracked reason i ask is i want more power so was thinking in fitting a new turbo but dont want to blow my engine again or is it a case of fitting a new engine any advise would be much appriciated
