Question

Im goinin' to be getting my side skirts and the black plastic skirts on the rear bumper colour coded soon so to keep my car on the road i said i'd remove them to be painted. I've looked at the side skirts and they seem simple to remove (just srewed on?) but the ones on the rear bumper appear to be harder. From what i can see the bumper has to come off to get at the screws/bolts. Is this so????

Any help or advice whould be a great help .

Cheers,

Tony.

Tony, i made the same inquiry a while ago and was told by a number of people to get them painted 'on the car'
i was told that they can be absolute bsdrds to put back on the car because of the clips that hold them on....

Thumbs up

When I had mine done, I couldnt get them off either. If you remove the rear bumper skin you can get to them, but as the bumper was off they just resprayed them on the bumper.

Hope this helps.

Tony,

You can get them off without removing the bumper. If you look underneath you'll see a screw (I think it is) securing the bumper to the chassis leg. If you remove that you'll find that the bumper skirt flexes enough to get your hand in and remove the fixings. You really need small hands and it's a bit fiddly but it can be done - I did mine which is a MY98 but I don't think that yours should be any different. Good luck.

Raymond.
