Default ECU reset and error codes question

Quick question...

I want to check the error codes on my UK2000 using the green and black wires method.

Are these error codes "saved" even after a problem has been fixed?

Therefore, should I reset the ECU first, then go for a short drive before doing any error code tests?

Thanks.

i would read the ecu to see what is on there (remember - they cud have been on there for years !!) - then reset and go for a run to see if any return

Good plan, then I'll know what they have tried (screwed about with) already, lol
