Default 3 port vs 2 port boost solenoid

As title people.

What's the comparison between the two solenoids?

I know how the they work. An how there plumbed in. I just wondered why Subaru changed to the 2 port on the later models.

Also, I'm getting my car mapped in a few weeks. I was reccomended a 3 port boost solenoid (which I just bought a few moments ago off fleabay, off a 95 STI RA) And a fuel pump. Still debating between the Walbro and the HRC.

Can anyone shed any light on the solenoids?

Many thanks. Chris

From what I'm told, better boost control.
