Default Ecu swap

Hi guys I'm currently swapping a 2002 WRX engine over to a 2002 STI engine I have the ecu do I also need the black box and chip from the same car?

You have all the wiring etc too?. The keys coded to the ecu. So you either need the key that goes with the ecu or the existing key recoding

Hi I have the full engine harness and the under dash part for AVCS I've got to work that part out yet. I should be able to get the key from the car the engine came from but need a solution if not

Far easier to swap the bottom end from the STi and keep the WRX heads with TGV's and abandon the STi AVCS ....... IMHO

So ecu swapped wiring done that part seamed very easy about ten wires to swap around in the plugs and a 4 core screened cable all done, if I get time tmw I will fit the inter cooler and a few other parts and she if she starts then the fun begins

May pop this on I have laying about its too small for the beetle lol





Not really I don't think the engine will take it lol

So ecu swaped chip swaped in the key, fired up and runs but has miss on cylinder 3 so on to find that tmw checked the coil packs hopefully it's a dodgy plug but I think it maybe a valve

check the block connectors behind the battery, i had a misfire and it turned out to be a short in the wiring

Ok will do Im going to swap the coil pack plugs over tmw to see what happens but I'm not sure if Subarus are wasted spark or not
