Default Hawkeye smoking :(

My hawkeye started smoking lightly under boost so I thought instantly it would be the turbo in its early stages. I replaced this and it's only getting worse anyone had the same issue, hoping its not the rings

Doesnt sound good if the turbo has been changed.

best get a compression test, that will confirm either way. Good luck!

The most common issue is ring land breakage to the pistons.
I took this picture yesterday from a Hatch engine, (Same pistons) and you can clearly see the result! This owner sensibly hasn't carried on running it once the problem became obvious, so he's avoided real bore damage.

We are well used to dealing with this one!

We would usually choose Mahle these days. They are a top quality piston and we don't get issues with incorrectly packed rings, which was becoming an annoyance with Wiseco. It was as though they were just chucking any old thing in the box. Only a perfect fit is acceptable of course.
When I say "usually" it's in response to the way all piston manufacturers batch produce pistons, and the fact that they aren't always available when you need them from suppliers.
Call me if we can help with any aspects of machining or building.

Hi Hibbs

If budget can cope go with Omega pistons, however plenty of quality alternatives as already stated.

All the best with it.
