I have just got my hands on one and I believe it's the LCD version. They are getting rare now as the company has stop making them, I'm sure there is another type of one but they are generally more expensive and even harder to find.

As far as I'm aware the psi3 will work on any impreza after 1997.

PSI3 will work with any v5/6 onwards impreza that has Ecutek ECU and OBD2 diagnostics port.

LCD displays are more common and are greeny-yellow in colour, the VFD models were about twice the price and have a blue display. I'd love to get hold of a VFD one but they are as rare as hen's teeth.

Wild Thing - if TurboBob doesn't have it I will as I'm looking to develop a series of remote switches for them and a spare would be useful

Thats great news mate i have just brought this.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=320992192976

Hopefully this is just the job as you can tell it cost me £350 though i still need something to sit it in doesthis mean i can switch between maps now? Does having an ecutek remap automatically mean i can switch maps now with this bit ot kit. Sorry this is all totally new territory please help

Top stuff, looks like the blue display version so you have got a very rare one
As for the map switching I don't really know, I've not heard of an ecutek map being switchable it's normally motec, simtek etc that can do that.

The PSI3 will let you reset the ECU to clear fault codes, but it won't allow a switch between maps as far as I am aware - best speak to some one like Simon (JGM) or Bob Rawle as they map Ecuteks and can give you an professional view

Be aware that the housing for dash-top and single din fittings are different - or at least I believe they are. It is a simple job to swap them over, and also the front cover. I have a nice carbon one at the moment but that white one looks trick

A common set-up for some mappers - something I was told to check when I first got mine and it wasn't boosting properly. WOT and press the window switch to flip between maps

I have a VFD conversion panel for the late psi3 LCD versions. Just a case of unsoldering lcd and then soldering in vfd screen.

I bought it then found out ive the earlier version which uses a different size board.

What Tommy says, or have you got any pics/ part numbers because a VFD display should be obtainable from RS or Maplin

Hi guys

Thankyou so much for all your info this is a great website for newbies and just might have to get a membership on here as it seems well worth it

So am i right in saying that this monitor fits where my headunit is? If so then where does the stereo go? Sorry if i come across as stupid just this is new to me and to be honest totally clueless as i had a bright yellow banana punto gt before this so a massive step up lol

For the classic I believe you probably need to put it on the dash top. For newage cars they have a double din stereo so you can fit it in that space along with a single din head unit.

you either need a pod for it that goes where your flip up lid goes in the middle or it will go where you radio is as its a din fitment

Yep still got it. it came from Itron UK who where the original suppliers to PSI3. im pretty sure i checked at the time & you cant get them from Maplins or RS.

here's my original for sale ad with pics & spec sheet of it
https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-par...a-monitor.html

also, im pretty certain you can determine if it will fit your PSI3 simply by looking at the plugs on the back of the units. if it has green plugs it wont fit!

but the real way to confirm is to get the spec sheet of your board and then compare the size specs. my board was a only point something of a millimetre out but meant that the pins would line up was ragin at the time!
