Default WRX needs too little fuel! whats wrong?

Hello,
my 1996 impreza GT / UK turbo with original td05, polarperformance chip and decat downpipe needs not much fuel. I drive everytime more than 400km with one tank wich is between 10-10.7liters per 100km it doesn't change with or without the polarperformance chip. And it doesn't change either driving fast or slow simply everytime around 10.4liters. Whats wrong?

Don't know which fuel pump is in the car but it's loud! Maybe fuelpump is wrong. But I've messured the fuel pressure already during idle and drive and it was how it should (instruction book).

Cheers

I think you need to find the most expensive v power available so if you don't use that much at least it will cost loads :-)

Seriously though, 400km is about 250miles. My 2005 blob will do 210ish miles a tank for general driving and 310 on A roads at best. Which is about 31miles per gallon. So yours is quite consistent, must be a steady driver :-)

Hello, you are reading right the consumption is too low and yes sometimes i am driving v-power . this sould be at about 27gallon/mile (uk). I am wondering cause it's even when driving a short time over 200km/h on the autobahn. And when the engine is warm I'm driving most times on boost

I have found mine also to be fuel effient at speeds of 90 or 140kph. As you said it will be running on boost but at a constant speed the turbo charged engine will not use much fuel. Which is a win win. My mpg figures don't seem to change once on motorway as said over 30mpg.

Take it to a rolling road and get the AFRs checked through the whole of the rev range through all the gears. If it's not dangerously lean and causing detonation anywhere, then you're good to go!

In which case, you can just revel in the great fuel cons. whilst enjoying the power.

Having one's cake whilst eating it, springs to mind.

With rolling road you mean a dyno? What are the afr's and which afrs would be good for my car?

Rolling road dynamometer, yes.

AFRs = air/fuel ratios

If you speak to your friendly neighbourhood rr operator about it, he should know what to do...

What do you think could be the reasons?
