I got a Wrx uk300 on a 2001 reg

I got a quote from extreme scoobies in boreham for cambelt kit and driver side rocker cover gasket. Plus labour. Total price £565 all in?

Does that sound ?

Cambelt and Waterpump kit (Might as well change it at the same time) is around £240. Rocker cover gasket kit is about £40. These are inc vat prices so £280 for parts and you are paying £315 for labour so around £260 +VAT for labour? I'm guessing this is around 4 hours labour?

I have been quoted by a guy (Scooby specialist) who is mobile to change a Cambelt on mine for £150 labour inc vat + Parts.

 

Seems pricey...

bear in mind those prices don't include tensioner that might be needed as well, about £100 + vat iirc.

 

Speak to Neil at Slowboy Racing, you will find him to be cheaper you could also buy a timing belt kit from AS performance and save some money there too

 

Full cambelt service is water pump, belt, guide, idlers & tensioner (£300-350 including labour).

Rocker cover gasket is ****.

 

Had a quote of £480 from a general service centre in burnham on crouch to carry out cambelt change with tensioners and replace auxiliary belts. Just got a feeling id rather go with a Subaru specialist, extreme scoobies was going to be my next port of call.
