Hi peepss right long story short my cars under boosting and i blanked the dump valve off n it solved my issue its a impreza uk2000 turbo with a front mount intercooler, ive had issues with boost for a while now n tryed everything from vac pipes etc etc, ive tryed another dump valve on it and it still does the same thing but again if i blank it off it boosts fine, so can i run the car without it? I know the pressure has to get out etc but wondered if itl screw the turbo if i run it without ?

yeh i did think it would knakker the turbo... im not sure mate as i bought the car with it already done.. i guess having it mapped again may sort the problem but at 500quid its a pricey option and may not sort it

TD turbos are fine running without a DV but the VF series are more susceptible to damage. You can refit the OE recirc but you'll need to get hold of an adapter. Either speak to Harvey or find a welder who can knock you one up - they are quite straight-forward

Also one quick question, if it does start to damage the turbo when can you tell to put the dump balve back on? Like will the car start smoking or making a noise so i know i need to put the dump valve back on?

TD04 turbos are even stronger than the TD05 and have very little to no risk of damage running blanked. A friend of mine ran a blanked TD04 boosting 1 bar for 7 years with no issues whatsoever..
