hi guys, my names dave based down in surrey.
I come from jap car baground and enjoy tuning to have good reliable solid car.
Due to recent new baby girl
i have decided to get rid of my current car (r33 skyline) and found a silver v2 import sti.
Im not going to lie, its a little ropey but a good project to have to keep me out of trouble,
Current spec is basically stock from what i can tell, but to be honest not entirely sure wha the sti has stock,
but it does currently have a what looks like turbo back exhaust, and air filter.
Car seems little tappety and looks like it needs a good service, so have ordered 10w 50 oil titan fully synthetic along with plugs, fuel filter and genuine subaru oil filter
car runs fine, sounds fantastic, however boost is very strange.
Sometimes it will boost to around .6 bar, the other occasions its shot past 1.1 bar!!
just need a direction really of where to start.
Havnt looked at engine management but guessing this is stock along with fuel pump but not certain.
have also read conflicting ideas on remapping etc, im sure there endless info in the search bar, but some fresh ideas would be much appreciated,
cheers guys, look forward to meeting a few in the non to distant future

would check and upgraded the fuel pump. im running 5w40 oil in my classic, tho maybe the thicker oil will keep it quieter.
would check and clean the maf
other than that it may be a split pipe or will require a ecu tune up for the boosting issue

fuel pump is on the list as im sure its still stock,
afm is wrapped in heat wrap!! not sure why but ideally want to replace filter with stock box?? as its sapping in hot ar from the head.
As for ecu map, are these ecu remappable?? tuners local down south to me?
ill get the maf cleaned when i carry out service etc.
Any preference on pump ??
you guys use the walbro? only ive herad few horro stories with these failing and being annoyingly noisy.
cheers
