Default Fog bracket mounts for classic

Morning
I did post this in the lighting section but it is only the brackets I'm after so might have more joy in the general section.
Hoping somebody can point me in the right direction?
My father in law has just had his Classic shape RB5 repainted and when the fogs were removed the mounting brackets were annoyingly rotten through.
One of his fogs were cracked anyhow so I've seen the crystal clear set on ebay but doubt they come with the brackets needed?
I've tried Subaru but they were useless, even with a numberplate the jobsworth couldnt understand what I was after so gave up.
Does anybody know where I can get some new or secondhand ones?
Or is there a known alternative that others have used to get round this?
Or are there any go to breakers that people know of, I'm in Essex if that helps.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Are we on about the bits BEHIND the plastic bumper, with captive nuts?

If so, any competent Scoob dealer will get them, I got a pair from Ledger in Donny before it closed.

I'm not really up on my Subaru's but I think they are the PIAA its a standard car, he wouldn't of changed them, the car looks identical to this i found on the tinterweb.

No idea mate we were told when it was in for the spray and were handed back the brackets when we picked it up?
I can get some pics up when I get home if that helps, but basically whatever the standard bracket is to hold on what I assume are the standard PIAAS altho it needs some fresh ones on as its all so mint.
I've seen some colour coded ones that fit into the existing space but with a smaller fog in the centre, are these from a P1?

Ah, right, not fogl;ights at all, then; driving lights.

PIAAs suffer badly from corrosion, although the light units are still sold, I believe the PIAA designation is "80XT".

Yes, the covers with 90mm hole were fitted to the P1 which also got driving lights, theirs were Hella 90mm units, there was a choice of halogen of HID.

Those units are also still available via a Hella dealer, to order, working out at around £140 per pair for halogen, maybe less, and over £500 for HID.

The covers can be had aftermarket and the lamp supports from a Scoob dealer, specify P1 driving light support bracket, they were under £10 the pair.

as alcazar says..... The p1 lights are small and sit in the covers like you mentioned, see link

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Orignal-Su...item3f1da5570b

standard lights look like this, either crystal or non crystal the bracket is the same.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/subaru-imp...item4abd00ff95

below on the left isthe piaa brackets i might have a pair, or try The Trooper 1815 or try the rb5oc theres a few breaking that may have them.

Thanks for the replies guys, really most appreciated!

Sweet baby Jesus 500 notes for some fogs, for that kind of money I'd want Kelly Brooke fitting them naked!

Yes the second ebay ad are the brackets he has not the triangular ones, so am I right in thinking that most people just buy the crystal ones on ebay then?
And if so will he need the bracket as the rear shot of these looks like its got some sort of bracket already or is that to fit to the bracket if you know what I mean?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/93-01-Suba...item3a7a748c12

Thing is he's near on 70 and wont exactly be using it like Richard Burns so the cheapest way to fill the spaces is order of the day I think so it all looks nice and mint to finish it off.

Thanks again!

ok so were not dealing with piaa lights, i dont know what most people do but i was **** and wanted piaa lights, so i waited until some second hand lights came up for sale. the ones in your link arent genuine and would need the brackets from this link.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/subaru-imp...item4abd00ff95

you only need brackets why would you buy another set of lights?

No no, NOT fogs.

These are driving lights, actually WORTH having, though the amount of night driving you do on country roads would decide if you wanted to spend the £££.

Have a look here, post 26, shows my driving lights in action:

The link in your last post has been pulled so somebody must of tapped him up early?
He's not refitting his existing PIAA's as one has properly cracked hence scooting about on ebay these non oem crystal ones keep popping up but assumed we'd still need his original mounting brackets.
What is a decent price for those PIAA's secondhand then just so I know?

Thats my pic. Both of those brackets are from different sets of PIAA 80XT's I had. They both do the job fine, as the hole on the bottom right isn't needed, bt can be used.

I give 65 for a mint set off here. Its worth replacing driving lights with driving lights. As mentioned, the 80xt's corrode somewhat, but are a worthy addition to dark country lanes. Or even to give someone driving towards you with their fogs on, a quick flash.

Ok that fog idea is right out, so driving lights it is!
As mentioned above no point changing them for fogs.

My father in law is trying Subaru again to try and find out how much the square brackets are or even if they do them, they keep fobbing him off saying they will get back to him.

Deano were you able to see if you had a pair of those PIAA brackets laying about?

Are the covers I've seen in this pic expensive or hard to get hold of?
Sorry for all these basic questions!

Coincidence I've got a set of Anthracite Superleggera's on my focus RS, look nice on that Scoobie!

Those are just STi covers. You won't be able to put the PIAA's under there. I thing you even have to take the standard fogs off to get those on.

The RB5 has the same covers as the regular PIAA 80XT's, except they have been painted RB5 colour, with a logo. They just clip over the light units themselves, and are easy to remove/replace quickly.

Cheers Joey most appreciated.
Got the price from Subaru, they want £135 per light with the brackets! lol

Do the P1 driving lights require the same brackets as the PIAA's?

No, theirs are like a cross made out of metal with the outer part of each arm bent up through 90 deg.

They bolt to the standard foglight holes, and then the lights http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?num=1...9,r:0,s:0,i:70

or: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?num=1...9,r:1,s:0,i:73 fasten to them and can be adjusted in two planes before fitting the covers with holes.

Don't be put off by their size, they are class lights, the halogens are good, the HIDs extreme.

New type brackets like this: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en...:15,s:20,i:174

Available from decent scoob dealers, specify P1 lamp mounting barckets.

They are just PIAA 80XT covers afaik, sprayed RB5 blue and with the RB5 logo.

Here: http://www.lkperformance.co.uk/lamp-...-pro-xt/216565 for example.

which link? the covers are slightly different but you could get away with spraying them and putting the stickers on. if you've bought a new set they should come with the above.
