Default up pipe blowing advice

hi i've just bought a wrx wagon for my other half , when i looked at the car i noticed the exhaust was blowing , but could not tell where from .
i've now had a look at the car and it's the up pipe
i'm going to take it off next week , i was wondering if there is a better up pipe to fit while i'm going to the bother of removing it . the car is running a ppp pack and i will be fitting a de-cat down pipe to
thanks

Paul,

A standard Sti one will fit
I've got a slip jointed/heaterapped one up for sale £35 but it needs a new set of studs, £8off eBay.

Lasted quite a while without a scoob then
Gaz.
