Default Fitting 440s on a classic

Hi all,

Is there a guide for fitting 440cc injectors on a classic anywhere. I am also looking for a remapper in the South Yorks area!

Cheers!

What year is you car and what phase injectors do you have?

You can contact Duncan @ Racedynamix or Simon JGM, both mobile mappers they will come to you.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The car is a '95 classic with a closed deck block and the injectors are the yellow phase 2 440cc ones.

I have a walbro pump and an ECU fitted with an ESL daughter board to go on as well. Was wondering whether to buy a FMIC and exhuast manifold before going for the remap.

Car already has decat exhaust, TD05, and induction kit. Whats the best power I can expect?

Cheers!

Cheers for the help guys,

Thanks to "katana man" for the injector adapter kit!!

Right, I've got the 255 fuel pump, 440's, an ECU with ESL daughter board. Before getting inn touch with the re-mappers do I need a fuel regulator or anything else?? What can I expect without the FMIC?

Cheers

I have a very similar setup, 96 drive-train
Walbaro
460cc injectors.
ESL MAFless
FMIC
3" Exhaust
Upgraded ignition to the newer coil packs with -7's
Stock TD05

I got some of the Jecs 460cc injectors which were a direct slot in! getting the old injectors out, is a mild pain in the ***!

Your setup will have plenty enough power to blow up the stock gearbox! Using the logworks logging software the "power calculations" I was showing 295hp and 390nm! I know these are not very accurate figures. But was enough power to blow gearbox during a big pull in 3rd gear when going for the final tweaks on the ignition map!

I dont think the FMIC is really required if you upgraded to a newer style unit(non slanty). The Stock slanty intercooler is pretty average will probably limit your power.
The ESL is amazing, you will be sure to have great drivability and all the stock ECU protections as well as a VERY tuneable ECU.

Good luck

I'm not too much of a guru sorry, Just know what I have found on here!

But i do know the slanty intercooler is pretty poor at cooling and doesnt like more then 300hp.

I'm pretty sure the later model bigger square ones or STI's ones will do the job up to about 400hp.
FMIC are pretty cheap to get these days, But is a bit of a pain to fit. I would go with a used later STI unit. I have seen some tutorials on fitting them on some of the forums!
