Default V4 Engine fit V6 impreza

Hi All,

I bought off ebay a engine listed as a 99-00 engine. After it arrived I noticed the coil pack was in the center of the manifold and some other bits dont match in location.

So after some digging I have found out this is a V4 engine. However I rang the bloke I got it off and he has said it has come out of a W reg car...

So now I am wondering will this work in my car if it worked in that. Mine is X reg.

Any ideas? If not what do I need of that W reg to make it work.

If it is impossible. Then I have a 1997-1998 engine for sale 80K miles. For a Turbo 2000.

Comes with everything except TMIC includes Turbo charger.

Take a look at the bolts that hold the inlet to the head, if they are in line it's a V1-4 type engine, if the 2 inner bolts are offset to the outer bolts it's the same configuration as your engine. You can then just swap your manifold etc over. If it's an early engine don't bother trying to make it fit, just not a simple thing to do.
