MD321/LM series twinscroll vs single
Hi,
currently i have a 2.1 stroked engine consisting of 2618 mahle pistons, cosworth rods, acl race bearings and stock sti jdm version 8 heads running a vf37 twinscroll turbo.Im looking to buy a bigger turbo in the near future and im considering the md321 and the lm series as they seem the most recommended for a stock location.Im not considering a rotated billet gt30 setup mostly due to its laggier, costier,'uglier' and preferable requires an aftermarket ecu compared for example to the stock location md321V billet and as such i believe its not worth over the 'small' top end gain (circa 50bhp at most). My real question is,I know that a twinscroll setup with the vf37 turbo spools better than the single scroll. But on a turbo big as an md321T or md321V, is a single scroll setup preferred over the twinscroll setup? As i have a single scroll setup as well in the garage and dont know if i should sell it and keep the twinscroll or keep the single scroll for when im upgrading the turbo. And what is the best turbo to settle for on a 2.1 engine,is it the md321T or V?.Car is mainly a weekend car that is used mostly on road, some drag racing (circa 4 times a month though no competition) and ocassional track. What do you think? Thanks

Twin scroll SC50 Billet should also be considered, I think it's a bit cheaper than the alternatives

I think the Sc46 is better suited to a 2.1.I've seen some sc50 spool later than a md321v with the same top end.If i was you i would opt for an md321t or lm450.I've seen some graphs of both the md321T and the V and it clearly shows that the T is faster than the V in most of the tasks as it has approximataly 30bhp more in the midrange.

Hi,
Maybe people dont know about the all new SC42 + Billet twin scroll, specially designed as a true twin scroll, DIRECT fit turbocharger, it runs an SC46 comp wheel instead of the SC42 comp wheel but retains the SC42 turbine wheel.
Now go !!
In stock at £1495.00 + vat
Cheers
