Default V-power vs tesco99

Hi people which is the better of the 2 fuels in you opinion
Tesco99 or vpower, I hear of most cars being mapped on vpower but with a Ron of 97 from vpower and tesco being Ron99 surely that would make the tesco a better choice, reason I'm asking is I'm getting my car mapped next week and need to fill the tank so looking for best option,

V Power is 98

I mix and match tescos and shell ... on the whole I find shell a little more refined, and tescos has a bit more oomph .. but I could be just imagining it

Hi there

I've used both, but as many mapper this will confirm V-power is more consistent than T99

On T99 we have better mileage,on V-power car feels more happy(or seems to be),checked both runs via Syvecs datalogging and there are small differences...

With meth think V-power is hard to beat.Car feels great and on the T99 don't know doesn't feels in this way

Many mappers still preferring V-power against T99,many people using T99 with the octane booster

We're still preferring the V-power if we could.

Which booster do you use? I was watching a 5thgear and they tested 4 in a lab across different rev ranges and loads. Flushed the engine beetween tests, carried out at same engine temps etc etc, and according to the results they all lost power by -2% and one by -6%.
Wasnt a Subaru engine, think its on YouTube too

Jura,

I know with Tesco99 they use additives to bring up the RON, but is there a problem using T99 with a 20% meth mix?

so vpower sounds like the fav in general but tesco99 will be perfectly fine to use aswell.

I was told that the most important thing is to stick to what the car was mapped on if possible, but most mappers seem to favour V Power. Mine only ever gets V Power with or without Meth, but Iv got a Shell garage at the end of my road so easy choice for me.

Hi there

I don't think so you will have some problems using T99 with 20% meth,we are run without the problem T99 with 20% methanol or T99 with 65/35 water meth mix
