Default What turbo to fit on a uk 2000

I've got a uk 2000 and I'm fitting a front mount intercooler, I'm also after upgrading the turbo ! Any advice on what turbo to get I was thinking a vf35 ?

i love VF turbos , i am going for one on my wagon possibly the 35

also a td05 18g is a good choice

I was going to leave ecu standard for now then get it remapped

i would get turbo done then go strait for mapping ,

maybe spend a day doing the usual bits like injectors, fuel pump, filter, then fit a turbo and go for a map

Your problem with going for a fmic is that you have to remove the standard air box which means the (delicate) maf sensor will probably blow itself up with the vibration, leaving you with a dead engine due to det.
So your option really is to replace the maf very regulary or go for an after market ecu.
Your other option is to stick with a new age STI intercooler and a (horrid) but bigger scoop on the bonnet (it doesnt really suit classics), but you wont have to replace your airbox as you can maintain the standard one.

Hi I've already removed the standard air box and been running a cone filter for over a year and its been fine

i have a low mileage ihi vf48 for sell soon,will produce good power and is a direct bolt on turbo,its basically a newer version of the vf34/35 and has covered less than 10k.
