Steering problem new age STI
All started when the pump broke down when we turned the steering wheel with power off.
Frstly there was coming noise from the pump (just like when you run low oil) and the oil was all bubbling.
Then changed the pump and it was OK first day, then the wheel again become very hard when turning. Not the whole L to R turn but just on some points.
Try to change the pump again with no benefit, also change the oil and still the same...
So is it maybe wrong oil, pump, maybe hoses or rack???
Any help welcome

ATF fluid.
We bled the sistem full lock L to R and again and again...
What is that single wire for?
Belt is fine.
Found small leak on presure hose, just under header tank. Could this be the problem ?

I have a similar issue, it makes a noise like no fluid on a slight lock only when coldish. But i did replace the belt recently, maybe its incorrectly tensioned but saying that mine does make a lovely whine......
If its the high pressure side than yes as the power piston inside the rack might not be getting enough pressure, this can be checked but you do need to faff about a bit
Side note is that 100 percent the correct fluid as with most peugeots now they run a thinner fluid for the electro hydraulic pumps and if atf is used it will end up killing the pump and steering rack seals

Must be something in the air mine has started playing up. Really notchy on idle but under a few revs it's fine. Belt is squeaking so fingers crossed its a simple fix. Car stands for 2 weeks of the month when am away at work. Don't think it likes being left.

What year is 'newage' ? and do you have an uprated exhaust ?
The reason for asking .. is that I have an MY05 STi .. with a Milltek that has the downpipe cat and heat shield removed.
What was found on my car was because the cat and heatshield had been removed .. the lower steering joint had essentially been fried .. and so I had to have the joint replaced .. and a custom heat shield put in place to protect the joint going forward ... not had any problems for about 3 yrs now

2003 Blobeye LHD car...
Removed the pressure pipe today, blow some air thru and now is OK, but I'm affraid that the problem is not sorted as once was OK for two days and then again started.
Next thing is change the pressure hose and oil again.
Which oil do you recomend? Any ATF or ..?
