MY99 Solar trickle charger via cigrette lighter socket

Just wondering if this would be effective or is it oslolated from battery when igntion off, or is it still connected via a onw way diode

my *** lighter is dead when ignition off so i cant see it helping. may need to feed direct to battery.

Yes but what im trying to etablish does anybody know if it still connects via a diode, a diode allows currant to run in one direction
