Porting and polishing......where to start?
Morning all!
I regularly read about everyone porting and polishing their heads and intake/exhaust manifold......but how do you actually do it?
I'm thinking of doing both manifolds but have no idea how to be honest?
Looked on YouTube and porting the cylinder head seems straight forward as you can get at it but how do you do the intake and exhaust manifolds please?

My advice would be.. if you dont know what your doing then leave it to someone who does, unless of course they are old heads/manifolds and you dont care if you make a horses **** of it.

Don't bother with polishing if you do decide to have a go at it yourself. All you're aiming for is a smooth finish.
I've had two engines with professionally ported heads (one by the late Bill Blydenstein for a car, the other by Tony Scott on a Honda bike) and neither had polished ports.
Tony told me years ago that polishing was a complete waste of time, and if he reckons it is, it is!
