Default Oil pressure

I've just fitted an oil pressure guage and I was wondering what the normal reading should be. The gauge reads in bar, and the car is a 2003 blob sti. What should it read at idle, normal driving and hard acceleration? Any advice appreciated

6-7 bar cold idle. 2-3 bar hot idle. 6-7 bar when accelerating above 3-4 k rpm

Pressure gauges come in 2 types either BAR or PSi(some have both on) and 3-4 BAR is 31-44 PSI

Your gauges are in Bar but they also do them in PSI but this has no relevance to you, lol, My gauges read in PSI not bar and are roughly 90-100 psi on cold start, 40psi on hot idle and 85-90 psi with foot down

Nowhere near 1 bar = 14.5psi

Nothing mate, He gets confused quite easily, I think it was refering to your hot idle which jeff(Alcazar)said was 31-44 psi, Which in reality after you convert it correctly() is 2.5-3 bar on hot idle not 3-4, Hope this clears it up a bit

Ah I get you lol. I have a warning feature on my gauges, what should I set that to? 1.5bar or is that too low?

Best first to find out what your hot idle is. all motors vary a little as theres lots of factors involved. Id set it at half a bar below what is normal. Although the pressure may drop lower as you come to a stop. sometimes idle drops low for a split second before the idle control valve picks it up. If you get a warning at half a bar below normal idle then try again at .75 below etc etc

Here are the minimum specs. If you see pressure below these limits it's time to troubleshoot.
