The mechanism in my '96 JDM Legacy drivers door mirror is Fbroken, the electric retracting doesn't trip off, and the joint has gone all wobbly. ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Can you take the guts out of a passenger side mirror and transplant it in the drivers side?
Alternativly, will an Impreza mirror fit If I change the base, or could I use the guts out of an impreza mirror?

One right here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-LEG...item2c66bc8823
I'd like one the correct 52D colour, and mine's immaculate, except for the floppiness, hence I'd just like to fix it.

i have done on my impreza, the motor stopped working so it wouldnt fold, it is hard, well, awkward, remove the glass with hot water/hot air etc, you cant buy the motors so will need a donor mirror to get it from if thats what you mean has failed
there is a little copper strip in there that is uber important you dont move as this will make the mirror stop at all sorts of angles, the switch doesnt stop the mirror, the switch is a constant live, its this copper strip with a break in it that stops the mirror where it should (on my 95 wrx anyway)

I am just on with this on my v3 sti.
I'm no mechanic but had it off and apart and tried one that was wrong size so had to put it all back together again and put it back on the car about 2hrs ago, lol.
Easy enough to do I now just need another wing mirror to butcher!!
There is a guide on here actually

According to the UKLegacy chaps, the mirror internals are handed, so I definitly need a drivers side.
