Default Urgent help please battery

Went to my car yesterday and it was flat. Never had an issue before but alway noticed but slow to turn over but put it down to the battery. Anyway left it on charge for a few hours but decided to get a new battery anyway today, just changed it now and it's going a bit nuts. I've got a little beep that's now stopped but of I turn on the ignition then the lights light up on the dash but they flicker and I get a beep then the alarm goes off.

What have I done wrong? Do I need to input the alarm code into the keypad or something? Please help i need my car for work Monday

Check your battery terminals, give them a quick clean with a wire brush and make due there nice and tight!

Sounds like as above a dodgy connection or the new battery is also flat. Do you have a multi metre?

Connections are tight. Put loads of copper slip on them to keep them clean. Managed to get it off as the alarm was going crazy. New battery has 11.99. I've now put it on charge to see if it's ok as I haven't got time to go back to halfords with it now as I'm taking the kids the pics in a bit so will use the wife's car. Worrying thing is my alarm wouldn't reset even on the keypad so I'm wondering if I even have the correct code , this one is in the alarm book.

I'll check it all again when I get back and if it's still the same then I'll take the connectors off and clean them right up as well as rough the battery connectors up a bit to get better contact.

All sorted. I'm back from the flicks. Battery fully charged an started no problem. I gave the terminals a good rub down with a wire brush as we'll. Will monitor the battery just in case I've got a duff one.

My boot light doesn't work. Never has done tbh

clean the copper shoite off your terminals, use a little white grease or vaseline instead..............
