BIG PROBLEM!!!
Evening guys!
Put my engine back into my 2005 blob wrx...... The clutch travels a ridiculous distance and then the clutch is ridiculously hard, the clutch fork doesn't seem to move.....Ive removed the bar that goes through the clutch fork and moved it around but nothing seems right :/ .......anyone have any idea what I might have done :/
Thanks!!!
Adam

From: on the computer.... obviously!
Make sure the fork arms are slotting into the tabs on the release bearing and not getting jammed either side as it goes in. Did you remove the bearing from the pressure plate and fit it back in the transmission before fitting the engine?

yes its always best as what may of happened is the bearing has spun round and your not locating the prongs of fork into bearing as debbiesonic said the best way to do it is fit bearing to fork with engine/gearbox out and pin in then with box and engine bolted togeather u push on the fork to locate the bearing.....

As debbiesonic and scooby800 have said.
I have done it once before and although hard you can remove the clutch pivot pin and pull the clutch fork up and clear of the bearing and then looking through the inspection hole reinstall it in the right place making sure it locates between the bearing and bearing tabs / ears. If the fork is pined in to tight you can leave alot of the engine plumbed up and lift the engine just enough to clear the lower mounts..... back off the gear box bolts and split the engine and box an inch or 2
