Default A few questions

Hi folks,

I have a bugeye wrx and regularly get error P0340 when I boost hard. It is a crankshaft sensor fault and I believe quite common at high rpm. I have read replacing it doesn't necessarily fix it. My questions are:
1) Should I try clening it and how?
2) Should i buy a new one and where from?

Secondly I have an exhaust leak from the back of my Prodrive sports Cat downpipe. Where is the best place to buy a new gasket?

Cheers,

Dan

P0340 is camshaft sensor not crankshaft,

It is held in place with a 10mm bolt and can be found behind the intake cam pulley on the right hand side of the engine if you are stud in front of the car. The is not normal that much in the way of dirt around that area to foul it up but if you take it out and give it a wipe with a clean cloth and a bit of brake cleaner etc and put it back. You normally find that when the sensor is on its way out the signal will brake down when the sensor gets warm.
