I've got a 95 STI 555 and the head gasket'(S) gone. It is by no means a minter & just wondering where to go with it. I can't afford to get it rebuilt (it's done 100,000 so wouldn't want to get head's done without bottom end). Don't know whether to get rid of it and start again with all the inherent problems of buying 1 that doesn't last or chucking a 2nd hand complete engine in (are these engines much different to the WRX's). I would much rather keep it original but TBH the cars not worth (condition wise) a £2500 engine re-build.

 

you can get gaskets, bearing, a block hone and new rings done for under £1500
