I often read about the 5 speed gearboxes on the UK cars only capable of handling around 330 bhp before they want to go pop.

I have a 99 JDM WRX which is also a 5 speed box but I believe these have shorter gear ratios than the uk turbos I not sure how they stack up against the uk boxes.

Are these also only capable up to 330ish?

The car will be used on track days so want an idea of what it can take before I start modifying it.
