Dump valve on a FMIC
I have fitted a FMIC and a dump valve on my wrx blobeye a while ago but because my liecence has been revoked, I haven't drove it. More to the point; I can't here the dump valve when I rev it. Is this normal and is it working??

Just reving it will not take the engine into boost so there is no real positive pressure in the inlet manifold to bleed off via the dump valve when you shut the throttle.

John is right, just revving the engine with no load, it wont spin the turbo enough to generate enough for the dump valve to purge! Try just pullin away (10-20feet) with about half throttle and you should hear it go off! Just to say for anyone who doesnt know, many engine failures are down to bein revved up for noise and such, this is because an engine is effectively 'loose' when it there is no load! Basically all the internals can rattle around a fraction more than they should.... not good! So next time your next to some guy revvin the **** out of it at the lights, just smile smugly knowing this haha! Then smoke him....!!!
