How to jack up front end for oil change?
Hi,
Am planning an oil change and a gearbox oil change. Normally I use some ramps to prop the car up. Would this be a good idea to drop the oils? Or should I use a trolley jack?
My concern is that if I use the ramps it will angle the front end up and I might not get all of the dirty oil out? Any help advice would be awesome. Thanks.

ive done the above changing oil/filter as well as the gearbox oil at the same time jacking from the diff is fine as long as you have a decent jack with a big suface area on it and plenty of padding on top of the jack.
Put the car on the axel stands on the front chassis rails, then jack the rear up so the cars wheels are off the deck make sure its level.
I never go by the dip sticks when refilling the oils i messure the required quanity that the workshop manual says and pour in

I've just done my clutch and flywheel, well a mate did!, ramps on the back and axle stands on the front...
If its just for an oil change then I use a trolley jack so I can let it back down level when the sump plugs are out....
