Default Classic to new age coil pack problem?

Hi all tryed to do the conversion yesterday was following these 2 guides

http://www.jamessimpson.co.uk/classi...ack-conversion

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1192028

I found that the 2nd guide was a bit more helpful as the cable colours was not matching up at all? Has anyone got any pictures of how they have wired the coils to the classic loom? The car seems to be really flat like its not running on all cylinders we double checked the wiring last night and everything seemed ok to the 2nd diagram but still no joy? Going to pull it all apart again when i get home hopefully find something not right?
I have a 93 wrx import any advise would be great all

Recheck your ignitor bypass wiring. Are the coils you used tested as working?

Tbh the ignitor wiring was exactly how the diagram said so preety confident on that but im gonna pull it all apart later and double check. Im pretty sure they have been tested but how would i test them myself just to double check myself?

pull them out one at a time, stick a spark plug in and earth against the engine while turning over on the key.

Ahh ok thought that was how it was done. If the 12v an the trigger wires are crossed would i still get a spark from them? Im going to remake all the connections later hopefully could be a dodgy connection as they have been crimped together
