Default Radiator has blown what to do???

Ok soo... my engine started smoking out the bonet on the drivers side.. the water temp was as high as it can go.. I pulled over and clearly the radiator has blown.. I do not want to start the engine and cause more damage..

If it is the radiator is it worth gettin a new radiator straight away.. or.. taking it to a garage to get it looked at???

did the temp gauge go sky high before the rad blew or after?you'll need a new radiator anyway so slap one on fill it up and chance it,worst comes to the worst you'll not do any extra damage.

60 quid from a guy on ebay, exactly the same as oem and be done with it, 40 mins has one in for a novice then plenty of burping when refilling with coolant and water. Dont forget the coolant!!!

Cheers guys. Managed to get one off a mate in the end. It was the casing that had cracked.

My rad blew, thought i'd done some damage, but it's been fine since. All fingers and toes crossed.

If it was running ok when you switched off i reckon you will get away with it.
