Default Powersteering res leak MOD????

As a lot of you probably suffer the same problem as I do on pre 96 cars i was wondering how to overcome continuously having to change the O ring under the power steering pot as it drives me nuts I've even tried changing over to a later spec pot but the power steering whined like crazy and the steering was terrorble so reverted back to original.

Here is a pic of the retro fitted power steering pot

So what I'm getting to is there a permanent fix?

I come across this pick on here where the power steering pot has been removed all together does anybody know how I go about it?

Cheers

Would that also mean swapping over to a new age P/S pump?

Was wondering if could get away with just using something like a relocation kit, banjo and bolt.

Easier to just swap to the newage pump, than clart on making something fit the top of your existing pump.

Try Matt @ Pole Position in the breakers section.

See mine didn't take to kindly to the face lifted res tank I just feel this should stop the leak once and for all

Did you find that you had to largen the bolt hole on the right where it bolts to the pump fella

After looking high and low for a power steering adapter plate I discovered today that you can use the adapter plate from a S13 180sx so with that acquired all I need now is a couple of rubber hoses long enough for where I want to relocate my resivoir bottle to and she'll be sweet definitely beats £17+vat from Subaru

I'll get a couple of pics up hopefully this weekend and finally be done with this constant leak

Hmmm, looks good and well done on the job, but alot of effort and money for just what needs a slightly thicker O ring on the original bits, thats what i used anyway LOL

Hope you bought the correct silicon hose, Mark. Most of it isn't suitable for power steering fluid.

Probably rot through, and leak PS fluid. Nasty stuff it is too, and rather flammable.

Hopefully it'll be fine though.
