the drop links are on the way out?

ive got persistent knocking on the drivers side when i go over un-even roads / bumps etc ive been told by a few people on here it sounds like the drop links need replacing obviously will need looking at before i just go out buying new links only to find out its something else.

is there anything i can look for when i get under the car to indicate this is the problem?

get a pry bar and feel for any play in them. Check the anti roll bar bushes as well, that could be the problem instead.
