Boost creep/fuel cut.

Boost creep/fuel cut.
Hi guys in anticipation of gettin my 2004 sti engine remapped I have been trying to make sure it's running right.
I took it to the local rolling road where it made much lower than expected power possible due to a large boost leak I had. Now I have fixed the boost leak the car drives much better but overboosts to around 1.5 bar (p.s it's a ppp so should be around 1.2) on hard acceleration, when it gets there it I can only assume hits a fuel cut, feels like someone turns the ignition off.
So to find out why it might be hitting the fuel cut I connected the turbo directly to the wastegate actuator and took it for another blast, this time the boost rose to around 0.8 bar again over boosting from what I believe should be around 0.5?
So my guess and please correct me if I'm wrong is that I'm suffering quite badly with boost creep? This is likely down to the air intake and totally free flowing exhaust I have fitted with no cats.
Does it sound like I just need to port the wastegate?
Really want to get this sorted before I take it to be re mapped.
Thanks for any input.
