Default Removing rear spoiler?

Hello, I would like to take the rear boot spoiler on my Hawkeye STi as I would like to clean/inspect for any rust, Is it easy to do, is it just bolted down or is it stuck down with adhesive as well? Is it an easy job? I would appreciate any help, Thank you...Mark.

Relatively easy, your see 12 bolts (if I remember rightly) holding the spoiler to the boot lid from the underside of the boot lid. Take these all off, you should be then left with 2 plastic type grommets that hold the front corners of the spoiler down to the boot lid. You can't actually see them until you poke about the underside where they attach. Basically I then used a flat headed screw driver from the underside to carefully pop the grommets out. Once they are free that's it. I found it easiest if you take the bootlid and spoiler off first in one go (4 bolts) and use something soft to lay it on to reduce any risk of it falling off the car in the final stages.

You should be about to see any rust from the inside? And you should be about to clean with a decent detail brush. Your likely to cause it to leak or wobble after refitting.

If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it mate. If you can see rust on the outside underneath then i would say ok to remove, otherwise let it be.
