Hi i have a 2002 Bugeye 72000 on the clock and have recently had the car mapped with Mods TD05 16G, Bigger STI Intercooler, K/N Panel Filter,Pink Injectors, 255 Fuel Pump and full Decat running 315 bhp. I have no Engine light but the car is running very rich and it is boosting ok but when the engine is hot it stutters/stumbles can be very jerky but doesn't cut out. The car starts fine but does rev to nearly 2000rpm on cold but back to 700rpm on norm and that has only started like that since i went through a flood but all the other issues were there previously. I have a new O2 sensor, fuel filter, Maf Sensor. New plugs PFR7B, no air leak as have done a smoke test. I have now purchased a FPR and are hopefully going to install it next week and are hoping this is the cause but any advice with what could be causing it will be very welcome.

 

Do you have a bov fitted?

 

Just the standard re circ valve but looks all ok.

 

Hi ive had nearly the exactly the same prob on my bug,mpg was down from 30ish to 15 on a good day,i also had front o2 changed no difference after a few months of pulling me hear out i cleaned my forge d.v. & since then its back to its old self,i cant believe a valve can cause such mayhem i was at the point as to take uppipe off as thought it was blocked cat.it must have been wither stuck open or closed looking back the dump valve didnt go off hardly at all,even how you explain about the revs & that i was getting the same it would boost no probs just didnt have the power i new it had & going through petrol like no tommorrow, .worth a look m8.

 

Thank you for that i will have a look at that while i am putting on the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I did read in the forums that injectors can get clogged or the fuel can crystallize as i didn't get the injectors put in for over a month. Not sure if that could also be apart of the issue but i think wouldn't it run lean not rich. If there was a code i would know, i will keep plugging away and will let you know how i get on.
