Default cam seals leaking

Ok ive got a slight leak from my cam seal, Its not major but I lose around 250ml of oil after almost 2 weeks, I wanted to know is there a cheap and easy way of sealing them up or would it need to be done by removing the covers etc and changing the seals?

Hi

Remove covers, belt, pulleys and at sametime reseal the cam caps then fit new seals. I do a few of these now and again & have tooling (same as prodrive) to make the job easier.

If its leaking as you say then go for new seals bud that way sorted and no further probs.

Cheers

Do you know which one is leaking, I advise you do all four.

Hour wise your probably looking at 3hrs, are you going to do it yourself? Has the oil got onto the belt?

Was thinking of but I doubt I will as id probably mess it up so rather get a professional on it, its just from one side and I dont knw if its on belt and I can only see it leaking from underneath behind the cover

If oils on the belt realy you should renew that aswell and its coming off anyway so best to renew.

Yes a qualified mechanics job but do not let that stop you if you are compitent to do it yourself. If its definetly just the seal then just replace that but I have in past had to reseal the cam caps.

All the best bud.

Well the engine was fully rebuilt 2k miles ago with all the belts and tensioners etc, but the cam seals were reused as they were fine but ones started leaking now
