Default Wooooops

Had my car mapped today, drove it home and noticed it was smoking from the exhaust on start up and for a few mins after!
Anyway i pulled up at my gfs house and noticed steam coming from the bonnet, lifted the bonnet, and theres a small split in my radiator hose, so my coolant was squirting out!
Is there a way to patch this up for a few days? Til i can source a replacement!

Also could this be why my car is smoking/steaming on start up?

Thanks

Why not just fit a new one?

Drain coolant, fit hose, do search on here for how to refill without airlocking, refill.

My hose split too, I went to my local motor factors they do a black tape (can't think what it's called) but apparently the us marines use it, anyway you wrap it round the hose and it takes a few hours to set it lasted a few weeks till my new hoses came.

I wouldn't 'play' in it till the rad is sorted mate, otherwise it could end up costing a lot more than you bargained for if it gets too hot.

burst water hoses are buggers your better off getting a replacement hose asap.As even if you tape it up i guarantee you it will be leaking by the end of the day.SJ.

Problem if you don't drain it, is refilling without airlocking. An airlock can cause overheating and head gasket failure......

I wouldn't drive it until you replace the hose.
