clutch pedal squeak - 06 Sti
My clutch pedal squeaks (or at least seems to come from the pedal area). It seems to happen more often when the car is warm i.e. driving for a while. pressing the clutch a few times seems to make it go away for minute of so, but it comes back.
I think its some sort of 'lubrication' issue, which would make sense as everything will expand a bit when warm making it worse.
I've tried using lithium grease on the rod behind the pedal that travels through the front of the car, but it hasn't made much of a difference.. maybe a little.
Searching youtube someone has posted a video of exactly the same sound...
Searching the net has proved inconclusive as this issue seems to be solved differently depending on the model and year of wrx or sti.
Anyone fixed this on an 06 Sti? I've read something about taking off the intercooler and greasing something there if greasing the rod inside the car doesn't work?

I also get a good dose of pedal squeak from time-to-time, cant pin-point when it does it in terms of car being warm/cold. It just does it every now n then. When it was at Subaru for servicing last week, the guy told me not to worry about it. It's merely a squeaky pedal mechanism! If you hear anything different though, it would be good to know!

Yeah.. I've tried lithium grease on everything visible behind the pedal. The rod goes through to the front of the car so it must be coming from there or at least some of the noise. I've heard people talking about removing intercooler and greasing something under it, but I'm not sure it's the same on the 06 sti?
