revs hitting limiter then dropping in 3rd gear

Default revs hitting limiter then dropping in 3rd gear

1st and 2nd gear is fine byut when i floor it in 3rd the revs fly to the limiter once the turbo kicks in and then drop to 2k then back uop again. it does the same in 4th.

any ideas as i have never owned a turbo befoer and have no idea.

Wild guess but I'd be wondering if that's your clutch slipping?

Definately sounds like the clutch is on the way out

it doesnt slip in any gear and the revs only go mad in 3rd and 4th. 1/2/5 is fine. it pulls away with no slipping

Mine did the same I fitted a clutch which solved the problem

bop bop bang- even though its ok in 1/2/5.

the previous owner is blaming the spark plugs as its done it before and he changed then which solved the problem???

Change the plugs if you want mate but I don't think it will solve your problem this is deffo the signs of a worn clutch.

Best way to check it is to get it in to 4th/5th at low rpm...eg 2k rpm and put your foot to the floor if the revs rise and the speed doesn't your clutch is fooked
