Changing Induction Kit

Changing Induction Kit
Hi there,
I recently bought an 03 blob with 70k miles on the clock and everything seems to be great. I have put some new boots on it, etc. and intend to run it as my daily.
It has a powerflow backbox and 'unknown' decat system the receipt doesn't say but the cost was £650, it has also been remapped to 287bhp.
My question is that it has had a Denso Induction kit fitted to it, however, ideally I really want to put an original airbox back on it. I am hoping this will improve my fuel consumption and not effect my power.
Am I right in thinking that this will be the case and will I need to remap the ECU to take into account the different induction.
Thanks for any feedback,
Matt

Do you know who mapped it originally? You could ask their advice.
A decent flat panel filter will flow well so may be just as good, unless the induction kit is huge?
I had a "decent" induction kit on mine. I remember Harvey saying it was about suitable for a lawn mower.......LOL
