Error Code / OBD System reader? (Got a CEL)
Hey guys, for the first time ever yesterday, my Check Engine Light came on when on the motorway. Ive got a Newage 2005 PPP WRX. It came on and stayed on. I pulled over in the next services and turned it off, started it up again but the light stayed on and dosent go out.
It dosent blink, it just stays on constantly.
I havent noticed any change in the car, performance seems the same and theres no banging noises going on!
I checked google and it seems you cant use the dash to read error codes like on the classic impreza's. Is that right?
So, how do I go about finding what error code has been stored? Is there a cable of some kind to connect to a laptop?
What I found interesting reading the manual, is this light relates to the Vehicles Emission Control System, so is this something to do with the exhaust?
Any help would be mucho appreciated.

Have you got an android phone? For less than £20 you can get an odbII reader which connects to your phone via Bluetooth. The Torque2 app can then connect, read the codes and even clear them once you fix the issue.
Alternatively, less than 20quid again you can just get a handheld reader, but they're often basic in terms of features.
Where are you based?
