^^well said that man. while the engine is out you would be crazy not to do the crank bearings. The amount of times ive known people replace headgaskets for the bottom end to let go 2 weeks later is scary.

I wouldnt touch a second hand engine, you will not know its history or how long it will last. I buy all my engine parts from here -

Headgasket, timing belt (you may as well) and some high temp sealant for re-assembling the heads (to prevent the dreaded rocker cover leak), some replacement nuts for the exhaust manifold and turbo-downpipe are also a good idea depending on condition.
When I did mine, I didn't do the big end bearings (a calculated decision based upon the oil contamination), and I was lucky enough that it's still going strong 30k miles later. The choice is yours, but it's well worth researching common engine failures and using some smarts to draw your own conclusion.
edit: Forgot I got new head bolts too, but I believe these can be re-used?

Engine out defo.
Gonna need part wise
Big end and main beatings(acl different Types friending on power)£100
Three bond sealant£20
Bottom end rebuild kit£60
Api do a rebuild service(uprated and paint) if pump for around £130
Uprated mls head gaskets £100
New bolts or uprated studs £30/£160
Decoke heads(if do yourself)£0 and new valve stem oil seals£30
Clutch while out ,check
Timing kit £140
Oil/filters£50
Oil modina ok to reuse if not had bearing failure.
Antifreeze£10
Can buy full gasket kit or buy separately as needed.
Advanced automotive or import spares on eBay are both good.
Sure I've missed bits out, n quality of bits used depends on power wanted/ money available.
Done people use cheap parts if eBay with ok results but genuine is best and if you buy bottom end rebuild kit and other gaskets as needed can work out cheaper.
Hope thus goes some way to answering you questions.
Subarus are not cheap to rebuild but if done right will be a reliable engine for another xxxxxx miles.
Cheers
