Default Scoobyworx SWRD 255 fuel pump

does anyone know if the scoobyworx SWRD 255 (49.99) fuel pump is any good or has anybody used or got one on their car or should i just go for a walbro 255 (74.99) and is there a reason why its cheaper?

I've just bought one, due for fitting in a week or so.

Looks good enough, and read plenty of positive reviews on here about them.

Look at the HRC Performance web site they do a competitive range of compatible pumps from 255 to 340 l/hr. At that price it sounds like a chinese sourced product, and there are loads of Walbro clones around so buy from a respected source like Alyn if you decide on that.

don't scrimp on fuel related parts a cheap copy can break your engine.

cheers

ok yes i agree i dont want a cheap copy i just want the correct pump mine is a MY97 uk turbo 2000 so which fuel pump is recommended and i want it to be a straight like for like swap as ill install it myself, because ive read the walbro is plug in from 98 onwards but earlier needs the connectors changing. also will an uprated fuel pump (255 for example) work like normal or is it really meant for when its been remapped

I can assure buyers our pumps are not cheap copies of a walbro. That are made to our specs to a high standard and we offer them at a price we feel fair. I know many companies charge upwards of £120 for similar items. While with most things you get what you pay for this is an exception to that rule. That said due to moving into new premises and bigger overheads we will be increasing prices on the the pumps shortly anyway to around £59.99

I can always increase my prices to £70 if people prefer :-)

But as with all our SWRD branded products we offer high quality at the best price we can. We have sold in excess of 300 of these pumps with very few issues i think only 3 faulty pumps so 1% failure rate. And after sending our t replacement none of the faulty units were returned as requested. So were they faulty after all.

Ask on scottish scoobies as we have sold many on there. We also back then with a 2 year warranty. Do walbro ??

And Bob i didn't realise that my established business wasn't a respected source. ????

And one could also assume HRC been a copy then as well as they price around the same as us. Yet you recommend them. ???

Maybe you and Rob have an agreement on recommendations :-)

I've installed a SWRD 255 fuel pump on July (2014), and now 6months later it has failed.
Emailing Scoobywork in a minute. :|

If you listen at 11s, the fuel pump sound like a cow! I've installed back the stock an hour ago and now the car is fine.
When the pump failed, I'd been full throtle for a few seconds, when I pressed the gas pedal next the car "chocked".
Well... guess I'm on the 1%.

I've got a scoobyworx SWRD 290l/ph Fuel pump in. Work's perfectly and if anything it's better than the warlbro that was in there before.

As for scoobyworx's customer service i can only say it's been fantastic. I've dealt with a few companies and tuners and i have to say he's up there with the best and also 100 % honest. I've spent £1000's with them and will continue to until im to skint lol

It was one of my first mods to. Even for my car (MY99 WRX), which is runing basically stock (just a few basic mods: full exhaust and KN panel filter), the first thing everyone told me was: "replace the stock pump with a Walbro".
I did some research and the SWRD had good feedback and the flow and warranty was better than Walbro, so.. It was a no brainer for me.
I'm not a bit worried, these things happen, it's not nice, but they happen.
Darrell has replied to my email and everything is beeing taken cared of.

I only have some questions regarding the replacement 290L/h version, noise wise and if it's not "to much", since I'm only aiming for ~270Bhp on my Subie.

Ok... feedback on the 290: compared to the old 255 it's quieter (when then 255 was ok).
Other than that, there's not much I can say, car pulls very nice!

Been meaning to sort out a reply for over a week. Well I can finally say my fuel pump is amazing! It is super quiet and works flawlessly!

Thanks to Darrell for sorting out my replacement in a day! Messaged him at 9pm on one day, got a reply the next and then he sorted me a new pump, which was delivered using a next day service straight to ZEN performance.

Honestly, this company keeps on impressing me. Well done to SW!

Stay this way for your customers; you really are a breath of fresh air. A company who cares and not just about taking money!

Yep, I can also say that customer support was great!
Talking about the product, I wish the pumps wouldn't come with that "high performance" small filter.

I decided to use the new filter, and I have fuel pickup issues on hard corners from 1/3 of tank down. Everyone told me not to use, but I'm stubborn... had to try by my self.
I'll got back to stock filter.
