Wink DIY test for an intercooler ?

I know I can have a smoke test carried out to find system leaks but is there a DIY way of testing the intercooler for leaks, obviously when it is removed from the car ?

Cheers

Could you not get somthing like a bmx inner tube cut and fasten with clips and pump up a bit and submerge in a bath look for air bubbles ?

From my vw days ( the 1.8t vag engines suffer from terrible boost leaks) cut a tennis ball in half and thread chuck a hole in it tight enough to put a airline of a compressor into it. Then stick tennis ball it the hose and clamp down and pump air into the system and listen for hissing
